Got up this morning and it did not appear to have rained overnight so I watered. 20 minutes per side.

Watering
Even though there were supposed to be thunderstorms yesterday, all we got was a 20 second drizzle around 4:30. As a result, I was out again this morning with the morning watering. I also did some weed pulling, especially around the silver maple along the street. 20 minutes per side of watering.
Watering
No rain yesterday and again the forecast calls for rain today. I’m just not convinced. Tomorrow it’s supposed to rain as well but tomorrow’s rain forecast came with a sharp drop in temp as well. That sounds like a better prediction. At any rate, I watered this morning–20 minutes per side.
Watering
Even though there was a chance for storms in the forecast I decided to water. Never know about Denver forecasts. 20 minutes per side.
Rain
Looks like my watering this morning might have been a bit wastful. This afternoon the sky opened up and dropped some more moisture. It rained for a while and then hailed. Perhaps that hail will push my grass seed into the grown.
Watering
As soon as I finished putting down seed I watered. I did a bit longer than usual–30 minutes per side. Here’s hoping the seed takes root!
Seeding
I decided to take advantage of the low cut grass to make a last ditch effort at getting some new growth in our yard. I took much of what was left of the seed I bought last year and generously coverd the areas with the least amout of green.
Weeding
Decided to continue the epic struggle against the infestuous weeds in the flower beds in the front of the house. I manages to make it from where I stopped yesterday all the way to the corner of the property right at the edge of the irises. I filled another large trash bag and I would estimate that it weighed about 40-50 pounds when I was done. That’s exhausting!
Rain
There was a prediction for rain today but I wasn’t going to get my hopes up. Then, as we sat around enjoying a quiet evening, not only did it rain, it poured and brought with it hail. In true Denver style, however, it only lasted about 15 minutes–but percipitation is percipitation! Guess I won’t need to water tomorrow.
Weeding
After mowing I ran some errands and when I returned I decided to pull some weeds. The peonies and roses and irises were being chocked out by the massive weed-growth. I cleared most of the weeds from the walk to the north along the front of the house but I ran out of steam just after the peonies and roses. I guess the irises will have to wait. In terms of scale, I pulled enough weeds just in the roughly 18 square feet between the walk and the roses to fill a large trash bag. It made a huge difference! Getting rid of he weeds on other spots is going to help tremendously–once I find a combination of time and energy.
