Due to rain of late I’ve not had to water much. However, it didn’t really rain yesterday and it is not likely to rain for the remainder of the work week so I decided to do some watering this morning. 20-minutes per side. I’ve decided that next spring I’m going to plant a real vegetable garden. I stumbled on a site yesterday that had some simple and straightforward information that I thought I’d include here.
Month: August 2009
Watering
After yesterday’s mow I decided to do some watering. 20-minutes per side.
Mowing
Did the mowing this morning–front and back. Also pulled some weeds. Fortunately, the weed barrier out back is keeping the weeds away. A few grew just outside the barrier so I pulled those but no more forest of weeds!
Watering
Because it rained a number of times earlier this week I didn’t have to water until now. However, it didn’t rain yesterday and will likely not rain today and it is supposed to warm up so I decided to water this morning. 20-minutes per side.
Watering
It drizzled here and there over the weekend but not enough to cover the watering. I should have watered sooner but never got around to it. As a result I may let the sprinklers go a tiny bit over this morning. Back to the routine.
Watering
Dana watered again. 20-minutes per side.
Watering
While I was in Milwaukee, Dana took care of the watering. It had rained enough that I hadn’t had to water in some time. She did the standard 20-minutes per side.
Watering
I went out and did the morning watering this morning. It’s been hot this week. 20-minutes per side.
Watering
After all the weekend yard work it was time to water. I got away with not having to water much last week because it rained just about every day. Probably won’t be so lucky this week though. 20 minutes per side.
Mowing
After yesterday’s weed-pulling-bonanza I decided to tackle the second massive job: mowing. I’ve been keeping the front of the house trim but the back of the house has gotten out of control. There’s just something so unappealing about mowing what I know is all weed. Ug. Anyhow… it took hours but I got all of it mowed and bagged. Total between the front and back I produced another 7 bags. Won’t our trash collectors be happy when they pull up to my house and find enough trash for a small apartment building. Ug.
After mowing and getting cleaned up I headed to Home Depot and purchased touchup paint (we’re finally getting our windows painted!) and yard-staples for the weed barried I laid down yesterday. Right now I’ve just got bags of trash sitting on top of it. When that is taken I’ll need something to prevent it from blowing away. Turns out that a box of 75 costs considerably less than I would have spent on the packs of staples so I went for it and will just leave them in the garage until my next weed barrier project.
