I woke up this morning and decided to do some watering. There was considerable dew on the grass but I don’t think it rained recently. We have Mile Hi coming sometime today and it is not supposed to be a rainy day so I decided it was a good idea to run the water a bit (the usual 20 minutes per section).
Month: May 2009
Drizzle
Mid-mow it started to drizzle. It wasn’t much while I was mowing but shortly after I finished it turned into a very short rain.
Mowing
The grass is finally dry enough that I can mow. It appeared to us that Mile Hi Aeration may have aerated but it we couldn’t find any sign of seeding on our lawn so they are coming back tomorrow sometime (supposedly) to seed again. I decided that it was important to get out the mower (finally broke down and bought one–got a great deal too–and now I don’t have to mooch off the neighbors every time I need to mow) and give the yard a trim. Even though there are still bald spots (which will hopefully be taken care of by Mile Hi’s seeding) the yard is starting to look greener. We’ll see.
Rain
When I woke up this morning is was still drizzling but it was also clear that the rain overnight was strong enough that there was no need to water this morning.
Rain
Looks like this may be the real thing this time. It’s actually raining. Still not very hard rain but enough that windshield wipers are required.
Drizzle
Not sure this counts as actual rain. It seems to be drizzling. We’ll see how long it lasts.
Watering
Because I’m attending a CLE today I didn’t have to leave the house quite so early so I didn’t start the watering until half past six. There’s a report that it may rain. One can only hope.
Watering
Looks like summer weather is upon us. Yesterday it was in the mid to high 70s and today it’s likely to be the same or even warmer. I was out early with the morning watering. I realized that it’s so dark I can’t tell what it is I’m watering when I start the sprinkler but by the time I go out to move it to the other side of the yard it is light enough out that I can verify that I covered the spots intended (which so far I’ve done without fail). Another morning of 20 minutes for the north side of the lawn and 20 minutes for the south.
Watering
Once again–no rain yesterday. Weather reports in Denver are about as reliable as an American car manufacturer making the right decision about what sort of car to develop. (Hummer for civilians? Really?) Consequently, up pre-sunrise and watering.
Thunder Showers
Weather man reports 40% or higher chance of thunder showers today. Adding thunder is just the sort of bluster that gets my hopes up about percipitation. We’ll see.
